Puffco now offers their flagship Proxy Vaporizer in three different configurations. You can purchase it as the Proxy kit — exactly as we reviewed it at launch in 2022. The Build Your Own Proxy option, exclusive to Puffco’s website, has been available since the first-generation Proxy and carries over to the new Proxy. And now the Proxy Core Kit bundles the Proxy Base and Proxy Core Accessory together as a cohesive ecosystem.

The Puffco Core Accessory

The Core Accessory is the latest from Puffco which turns your Proxy  into a compact egg shaped, durable on the go E-rig  vaporizer. The Proxy base fits snug inside the lightweight aluminum alloy cup and a heat graded silicone mouthpiece snaps over the top of the chamber.  

The Core accessory adds a huge level of durability and portability into what is otherwise a device one is hard pressed to carry around with the OEM glass and much more so with the aftermarket glass such as the Bub or Wizard pipes. 

The Core Proxy Kit offers the durability many users found with the Pivot while offering way larger dabs with better battery life.

How does the Core Work ?

The Core Accessory essentially blocks the vapor path on the side of the Proxy base and the silicone mouthpiece pulls your vapor direct from the Proxy 3D Chamber. In theory one could do this with just the mouthpiece by holding your finger over the sidecar vapor path on the Proxy base and inhaling from the top.

How is the Vapor Quality ?

The Core offers a more direct, robust and heavy vapor compared to using it with the Bub or even the OEM glass pipe. You can take little sips if you wish but if that is what you are after, you are much better off buying the standard Proxy Kit or Pivot (if being pocketable is a must) . The Core exists to give users large dabs in a compact device. It will not be as smooth as the Peak Pro or anything else that purifies through water or has a larger stand off distance from the heating chamber to your mouth, which allows the vapor to cool. 

The silicone mouthpiece does offer a cooling path akin to that of the Pivot where there is segmentation inside giving some cooling properties to the vapor and drawing slow and controlled offers the best texture and vapor output. 

What is the Proxy Core Made of ?

The Proxy Core Accessory is a straightforward and simple 2 piece accessory. The Core Cup and Core Mouthpiece. The cup is just an aluminum alloy cup which fits your Proxy snug up to the control button of the base. The mouthpiece snaps on over the Proxy 3D Chamber. 

Does the Core work with the OG Proxy ?

Unfortunately not. The OG Proxy will fit in the Core Cup but the mouthpiece will not snap on given the original Proxy 3D Chamber collar as you can see in the photo the difference in chamber designs. If one could make their own mouthpiece for the OG then it would work but the Puffco OEM Core Mouthpiece is designed only for use with the Proxy v2 base.

What is awesome about the Proxy was that it was designed for other artists to create around. I am sure we will get some cool 3rd party mouthpieces which will accentuate the Core and elevate the accessory within Puffco’s Proxy compatible eco-systems. 

All in all it is a cool little concept to show the versatility of the Puffco Proxy and at $50 it’s not going to break the bank if you want to add the utmost level of portability to your Proxy.

It is not one for me personally. The Proxy is my favorite flagship Puffco device. I mainly use around the house or at the pool. I can get some light and tasty dabs with the OEM glass and I don’t cough up a lung or ever get too faded. I also enjoy the look of it within the standard OEM pipe and to this day still just use my gen 1. The same one Puffco gave me in 2022.

If you want to have a sesh with friends and at the same time have something in your pocket to session with friends after, the Core Proxy Kit is going to be a way bigger winner than any 510 battery. However I am still of the opinion you are best getting the Puffco Proxy Kit and then accessorizing around that.
