Ready, Set, GO – Dr. Dabber New Switch GO Review

The Switch GO is a more compact induction heating E-rig from Dr. Dabber which models itself after the larger older sibling,  the Dr. Dabber Switch 2. The concept and design is nearly 100% the same as the heavy hitting Dr. Dabber Switch 2.

Where we gave the Switch 2 accolades for totally re-inventing itself from the original Switch, here we are giving Dr. Dabber those same accolades but for keeping the new formula the same. The dynamic induction heating, removable inserts and easy to operate user interface in something this compact will certainly be a winner for dab lovers all over the world.

The original Dr. Dabber Switch was my favorite E-rig but it was not the easiest to set up or use. It also did not give you huge dabs. I enjoyed it for the quick, clean and tasty dabs which I prefer over lung busters which you get from the Switch 2. The Switch 2 really streamlined the original Switch design into something more heavy hitting and user friendly and in this evolution the Switch GO is now taking that and making it into something you can pass around with one hand or easily pack for a quick trip while offering a similar experience. This is sort of like a Peak Pro vs. Peak or Mighty+ vs. Crafty+ combination with the Switch GO being a smaller Dr. Dabber Switch 2.

PRICE

The Switch GO retails at $330 at it’s release. I would have thought Dr. Dabber to have priced it a little bit lower to compete with the Puffco Peak , however the GO is a superior vaporizer to the Peak and is $100 cheaper than the Switch 2. The link below you can get the Switch GO from To the Cloud Vapor Store where your purchase will also come with a 60 day trial period and lifetime trade ins.

Packaging/ Unboxing Experience

Packaging is basic and straightforward. The quick start guide rips right out but that is by design. It does provide sufficient protection but does not appear Dr. Dabber designed the box to double as a protective travel case as we saw with some of their earlier model vaporizers in the original Dr. Dabber Switch and Boost Evo.

This was something we wrote about in the Dr. Dabber Switch 2 Review as well and what has been  par for the course in the industry –  needing to cut down on production costs and the packaging is a good place to start. For those who travel with their rigs, you will 100% want to pick up the Dr. Dabber Tour Bag should you cop the Switch GO.

The Dr. Dabber Ghost 2 is another example of the economical trend in  packaging. It is the most minimalistic consumer goods packaging you will ever see relative to the quality of the device. Almost like an after thought or just something to pack it in that will do the trick to get it to the customer. The GO and Switch 2 packaging all sort of fall into this camp.

The instructions are awesome and easy to follow right inside the packaging. They have that whole airplane safety card vibe. Then of course as most people do these days, scan the QR code for instructions on your phone.

comes with

The Switch GO feels like it comes with nothing and I love it. Too many years of opening these and the manufacturer includes so many random knick knacks and assorted vape related gadgets most customers already have and which few actually would make use of.

The Switch GO comes pretty ready to go out of the box and the device parts are all encompassing on the device besides the USB-C Charger and the Dab Tool which they include in the upper compartment of the packaging.

  • Switch GO Quartz Induction Cup
  • Switch GO Stock Glass Attachment
  • Magnetic Carb Cap
  • Dab Tool
  • USB- C Cable

Build & Design

As we will mention 100 times in our Switch GO review, the Switch GO copies the build materials and design nearly to the T of the Switch 2. The mainframe of the unit is built out of a high purity aluminum ceramic material and an aluminum alloy crown which you remove to access the inner cup. The 14mm quartz insert comes in place inside the heating element. The Switch 2 GO Glass is borosilicate glass with a singular down stem. The magnetic carb cap is designed to enhance the airflow as well with the stainless steel joystick design.

The carb cap’s joystick protrudes very deep into the inner cup and is made of stainless steel whereas on the Switch 2 it is not as long and made of glass. So Dr. Dabber is making some refinements from experience here.

The Switch GO Battery is an internal Lithium Ion and charges with a USB-C outlet.

At its core, the Switch GO is built on a large-device platform, but engineered to feel compact with the OEM parts. You could deck this thing out with custom glass and a different carb cap and it would look and feel closer to the Switch 2 than the Boost Evo or Puffco Peak.

Usability

While the Switch GO does not have the on/off button the Switch 2 has, I still find it to be easier to control and operate than something like the Peak. Where the Peak is easier to set up prior to your session there is only one button control and no app. Once you get your session started with the GO it is pretty easy. It is more so getting it ready.

Here I have three buttons which explain what they are for simply by looking at it. Power on/off, temperature up and down.

So while I do need to remove the Switch GO Carb Cap and crown to take out the insert and glass to fill with water, once I am fully assembled I am not guessing as to what sequence of buttons I need to press and in what order. It is very straightforward and if you want to customize your settings, well good news. The Dr. Dabber Switch GO is app compatible.

Quick Start Guide

  • To remove the glass, you must remove the crown first. Grab and pull straight up.
  • Once the crown is removed, pull and twist the glass to remove.
  • Add water to the fill line into the glass attachment of the Switch GO.
  • Remove carb cap to access the Switch GO insert.
  • Load concentrates into the Switch GO using a loading tool.
  • Place the carb cap back on the device.
  • Hold GO button for 2 seconds to turn the device on.
  • Press +/- buttons to change vapor profiles.
  • Press the GO Button once to start a heating cycle.
  • 10. The unit will vibrate and LEDs will illuminate green when the device has reached the start of the heating cycle

The default colors are below but the Switch GO temperatures can be customized from 250°F to 650°F in the app.

  • Purple 400°F
  • Blue 440°F
  • Cyan 480°F
  • Orange 500°F
  • White 540°F

Sessions

The Switch GO offers the same dynamic heating modes for your session that we talked about in  the Switch 2 review . These features really enhance the session you are going for and assist you with customizations down the line if you want to outfit your GO Vaporizer with some premium inserts or 3rd party glass. These dynamic heating modes – ascending, static, descending, hill and valley are pretty much as they sound. The temperature works its way up, stays the same or moves down over the session. Of course you can play with the app too and customize the session time, temperature and LED colors.

I preferred to keep my sessions at the default 30 seconds (auto shut off). This gives me enough time for 2-3 hits. However the GO can really deliver some massive hits at 650°F with a 10 second auto shut-off for those wanting the more like a traditional dab rig.

One of the biggest pain points with your sessions is loading and unloading the insert. I like to physically see if I have some puddles in there or how much I am loading vs. how much residual remains in the insert and I know you can always just blast out the remnants at the highest temperature  and Q tip the insert but that burnt nasty taste is exactly what I try and avoid.

All in all the sessions on the GO offer more versatility for casual baby lung dabbers like myself to the pro hash heads who want to pack ¼ gram at a time. The 14mm insert does the trick. You can easily keep it chill or really turn up the volume.

The nice part about the user interface is that the Switch GO will stay in standby mode for 15 minutes before powering down. In standby mode you just need to hit the home button once and it fires right back up.

Dr. Dabber App

This is going to be the best way to get started with your Switch GO and Dr. Dabber has one of the best apps in the game. Biggest pain point is that with vaporizer apps you have to use a path browser or access it on a PC (if you use an iphone). Apple has kept their ban on vaporizer apps going all these years later.

Out of the box here too, the app kept prompting me to download the latest firmware 3 times which all in all took about an hour until I was up and running. But in the app there are all the customizations you can make as well as a quick video tutorial on how to operate the GO. Oddly I noticed in the app the default temperatures in the app  are different from what they show on the quick start guide with purple being 450°F  and not 400°F

Vapor Quality

The Switch GO is so much nicer on my lungs than the Switch 2. The small OEM water attachment can get a bit overwhelmed here with larger draws at higher temps though. I feel the more customers are going to want premium aftermarket glass for the GO than the Switch 2. The vapor comes easy but nothing like the Switch 2 which I stated could get a bit ahead of me and next thing I knew I was taking a huge dab and coughing my lungs out – not a good time.

Oddly the lower temperatures on the GO did not provide what I would consider sufficient vapor for smaller dabs. With about ½ a rice sized grain I was not getting much vapor at the lower 2 heat settings. With the same amount bumped up from 450°F to 500°F it was night and day difference.

My favorite temperature for a balanced flavor and not too harsh of vapor was 505°F. I did like the flavor of the lower temperatures but to get good vapor there you have to draw slow and use the joystick. The joystick here really does enhance vapor production whereas on other devices I have sort of written it off as a gimmick that only makes the vapor production marginally better.

Given the Switch GO was just released (June 2nd 2026) we are yet to try it out with any of the premium inserts or glass Dr. Dabber will soon be releasing. On the Switch 2 I did say the Sapphire Insert was pretty essential for better flavor. That will be the same for the GO but thankfully with it not hitting as hard I don’t feel I need it here on the GO like I do with the Switch 2.

Portability

This is a difficult one. I personally don’t think many vaporizers are that portable as portable to me insinuates I can toss it in my pocket or don’t need to give it much thought or care as to not break any glass or components. But here the Switch GO can be held in one hand with ease.

Dimensions

The Dr. Dabber Switch GO feels like a mini Dr. Dabber Switch 2. The way it is designed and modeled. However its size profile is more in tune with the Puffco Peak. Dr. Dabber did have a very “Peak-esque” device in the Boost Evo which also was about the same size as the GO.

Spec Details
Weight 12.9 oz (without water)
Dimensions 6.25″ × 3.25″ × 1.75″

With the Switch GO glass sticking out a bit it’s hard to get to an exact  scientific measurement  but it stands about 6.25” tall with the standard glass.

This thing feels & functions way bigger than it is on paper. That is a testament to how well they packed all these features into something that is not even one pound (lb) in weight.

Battery & Charging

The Switch GO Battery is an internal 1600 mAh DC 7.4V Lithium Ion Battery putting it a bit over half the capacity of the Switch 2 at 3000mAh. The Switch GO charges with a USB – C port on the front of the device and charge times will vary based on what grade of USB-C cable you use. The block charger we used here got us from dead to full battery in an hour twenty.

Obviously the battery life depends on your temperature and the duration of session. The average over here during our Switch GO review was about  25 sessions  in the 440°F – 480°F range and while you are not getting Switch 2 battery capacity the GO does offer pass thru charging.

Cleaning

The Switch GO glass being small does lend itself to increased build up but also its design with a single down stem does make it easier to clean without needing to get into different chambers. The quartz insert is easily cleaned with an isopropyl alcohol bath and here you need to be careful to not clean it while it is hot.

Warranty

The Switch GO only comes with a one year warranty. Using inserts instead of atomizers does help you worry less about this as they cannot malfunction. This is a huge reason many are opting with the Switch 2 over the Peak Pro. Would have expected a 2 year warranty here like on the Switch 2 but Dr. Dabber does make good devices and with proper treatment of your GO you should be going for a few years. No pun intended.

Let’s GOOOO

Ultimately this is a highly recommended buy. I like this one alot and don’t feel it is just a lazy re-release where the manufacturer slaps a 2, mini  or a plus description at the end of the old models name and calls it a day like so many other vaporizers out there. The Dr. Dabber GO  punches above its weight and will be great for beginners to seasoned hash heads alike.
